Eating food manners are among the most important part of a nation’s eating habits. Rules of tablecloth and festivity are among the most important parts of eating manners. Whether in the ancient times or in the Islamic period, Iranians gave high importance to these manners and observed certain doctrines and traditions in this respect. Zoroastrianism and Islam were among the significant and influential components in the Iranians’ eating manners. It is attempted in this article to review this issue in a historical and comparative procedure.
