In this article the author, while analyzing the historical developments in the Waqf in the Indian Sub-Continent, has introduced the ancient Waqf estates and sites in this region. The role of the Sufis in developing the Waqf and the importance of Waqf in dissemination sciences has also been discussed. In the concluding part, the conspiracies of the British Colonialists in weakening the Waqf in the Indian Sub-Continent have been explained.
