An Analytical Study of the Bylaw of one of the Religious Assemblies in Mahshad (Dhikr-i Husaynī) during the Constitutional Period

Abstract

One of the symbols of the constitutional period (mashrūta) in Iran was the inception of various assemblies. In their examinations, the researchers mostly focus their attention on political assemblies rather than other types such as religious and charity ones. Dhikr-i Husaynī Assembly is among the religious assemblies developed in Mashhad during the constitutional period, whose functions are worth to be examined from different aspects. In this article, first the assembly’s bylaw is elaborated on and the content is analyzed according to the information acquired therefrom and from other sources. In this evaluation, the chapters presented are separately examined and analyzed by such criteria as the members’ base, seals, and occupations.
