Economic Jihād and the Necessity for Laying Cultural Foundation

Abstract

1390 sh. was intelligently named the year of “Economic Jihād”. The false belief of the contradiction between this world and the world to come or the conflict between science and religion which is rooted in the Western culture has made some people not to take a positive attitude towards working and means of livelihood.
In this brief editorial, the significant status of working and economic activities – so important that the Prophet (S.A.W.) phrased it as jihād – from the Islamic point of view is brought up with the use of the Qur’ānic verses and the traditions and sīra of the Infallibles (A.S.). This attitude correction and laying cultural foundation plays an important role in economic jihād and optimal benefit from Divine blessings.
