The Great Prophet of Islam (S.A.W.) and Removing Superstitions

Abstract

The popularity of superstitions including untrue beliefs, and false traditions and customs were among the features of the paganism (jahiliyya) culture. In this writing, six of their general instances are pointed out and critically reviewed using the Qur'anic verses and the Islamic traditions as well as the life story (sira) of the Prophet (S.A.W.). The author regards the way the Prophet (S.A.W.) fought against these phenomena in that time as the wonders of his Prophetic Mission; which has been carried out with forbidding them, on the one hand, and inculcating and instructing wisely beliefs and praiseworthy ordinances, on the other.
