Abstract

The role of context (siyaq) as the fundamental concept in the formation and interpretation of speech is dependant upon an important factor, conceptual unity. This feature paves the ground for the unity and compatibility of multi-meaning concepts to be conveyed to the reader. Similarly, in order to achieve the conceptual unity in speech, the existence of the three structural features of independence and integrity, connection of the concepts, and harmony in meanings, as well as the three conditions of unity of purpose, unity of theme, and unity of issuance are necessary. The above structural features and conditions are viewed as among the significant discourses concerning siyaq.
