Abstract

The uprising of MukhtārThaqafī erupted after the tragedy of ‘Āshūrā in order to take revenge for the murder of Imam Husayn (A.S.) and the martyrs of Karbalā. The Persians took part in this uprising with an indescribable zeal. Having studied this issue, the writer has concluded that the Persians, killed in thousands, stayed along by the side of Mukhtār to the moment of his martyrdom, and this comradeship was a beginning for their more active participation in the political arena of the Muslim world.
