Abstract

Verses 60 to 82 of Sūrat al-Kahf (The Cave) comprise one of the most evident artistic manifestations of the Qur'an stories. Analyzing such components as character, character development, movement, time and space, environment, ambience, unilateral obligation (īqā‘), the tone of recurrence, and unexpected events in the above story are among the issues addressed in this article. Meanwhile, references are made to the other story in Sūrat al-Kahf in proportion to the content and style of the story of Moses and the servant.
