Research mehgodology in Islamic study circles (hawza ilmiyya) is in fact the methodology of deduction (istinbat) and discretion (ijtihad). Counting as illuminating the research records of the hawza institution, the discussion reported here also mentions some of its shortcominggs. Unsystematic education and research is regarded as among the drawbacks of scholarship in Islamic study cirles.
