Silence in religious texts is considered a meaningful element in the process of producing meaning and guiding the audience's discourse. In this research, silence is analyzed within the framework of linguistics and contemporary studies, not as a lack of meaning, but as an active mechanism in producing meaning, exercising discursive power, and organizing the educational field. By adopting the "discourse of silence" approach and utilizing critical discourse analysis, rhetorical analysis, and detailed interpretation of the text, meaningful silences in Letter 31 of Nahjul-Balagha - the will of Amir al-Mu'minin Ali (AS) to Imam Hassan (AS) - have been analyzed. The findings show that linguistic, narrative, ideological, rhetorical-syntactic, and emotional silences play a decisive role in shaping the semantic structure of the text through omission, brevity, and narrative suspension. This architecture of silence transforms personal, emotional, and political advice into timeless wisdom, and by making teachings generalizable, activating the audience's interpretive participation, and compressing lived experience, it enables the transmission of deep moral-cognitive layers.
