This research is carried out under the title, “Measurement of the Rate of Satisfaction of the Pilgrims with the Service Providing Locals and the Factors Influential in it in the Summer 1378/2008.” The theoretical framework of this research is based on Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, Alderfer’s theory, equanimity theory, quality culture theory, contagion theory, interchange theory, Alan Thorn’s theory, Kurt Lewin’s field theory, consciousness theory, and Campbell’s theory.
On this basis, the hypotheses of the research were modeled and presented. Measurement research and data collection tools were questionnaires with 78 questions. The statistical society consists of the pilgrims of Mashhad with about 3 million people, from which 390 people were sampled at random by Cochran formula, in which p = 0.5 and q = 0.5, and the questionnaires were completed. The hypotheses were confirmed by independent variables of discrimination, living expenses, satisfaction with the previous travels to Mashhad (success), satisfaction of the relatives’ travel to Mashhad, (contagion) of feeling security, and satisfaction with Mashhad environment, and the hypotheses concerning the relationship between the socio-economic status and the length of stay in Mashhad with the pilgrims’ satisfaction were not confirmed.
