مناظرات ائمه(ع) یکی از مهم‌ترین منابع در راه درک بهتر عقاید شیعه است. مناظره از آن جهت که به منظور شناخت درست صورت گرفته و مناظره‌کنندگان سعی در مشخص کردن تمام نقاط مبهم و تاریک عقاید طرف مقابل را دارند، کمک شایانی به درک واقعی از کُنه دیدگاه‌ها و ایدئولوژی یک مکتب می‌کند. نویسنده یکی از معروف‌ترین مناظرات امام رضا(ع) را برگزیده و مورد تحلیل قرار داده است.

The study of the debates of the Imams (A.S.) with the advocates of other religions is one of the most important ways of better understanding Shī‘ism. In this article, the writer has selected and analyzed one of the most popular debates of Imam al-Rizā (A.S.). His overall view concerns the procedures and methods that the Imam (A.S.) used to follow in his debates.
