Having originally started for the purpose of cleaning, purifying and removing of dust from the holy shrine and the sacred gravestone inside, this ritual has gradually and with the pessage of time and due to social requisites turned into a special ceremony, attracting the attention of the pilgrims, citizens, and the A. Q. R Organization itself. At present, the ceremony is performed within special rites under the supervision of the Deputy of the Holy Places Department and in the presence of the related executors, the A. Q. R. officials, and the invited guests.
