The Q ur'anic studies made by orientalists have always been criticized by Muslim scholars, albeit mainly from a pathological point of view. In addition to a brief survey of orientalism and the overall pivots of their misconceptions in the field of the Qur'an and its interpretation, the present paper touches upon the problematic components in the orientalists' methodoloy of the Qur'anic studies.
The orientalists' mentality and presuppositions, and their lapses in referring to the sources as wall as their errors in grasping the sources, are considered as among the most salient problematic components in the orientalists' methods of the Qur'anic srudies.
