Cognitive linguistics is one of the most important approaches in modern linguistics, establishing a meaningful connection between language and thought, and its scope encompasses theories that take various forms. Among these theories are image schemas, which in cognitive linguistics are known as embodied structures for representing abstract concepts. In the Holy Qur’an, there are many abstract concepts that are expressed through a set of Objective concepts. Examining these concepts helps the audience to more accurately understand and comprehend Qur’anic culture. The present study analyzes the story of Moses in al-Qasas Surah from the perspective of cognitive linguistics, with an emphasis on the role of image schemas. The findings indicate that volumetric schemas, such as the imagery of Moses’ mother’s heart and other divine signs, as well as motor schemas, like the depiction of paths of growth and excellence, and even power schemas, such as the portrayal of obstacles and divine supports, deepen the effectiveness of the Qur’anic message on the readers’ minds and hearts. The study also demonstrates the unparalleled artistry of the Qur’an in utilizing sensory concepts to facilitate comprehension of meaning and to enhance its impact on the listener.
