This study aims to investigate the semantics of the concepts related to "dwelling" in the Holy Qur’an by analyzing the etymology and conceptuality of thirteen key words. The research method is based on lexical analysis, interpretive study, and the study of conceptual links between these words. The words studied include: aknān, bayt, dār, sakan, ṣarḥ, ghurfah, mabu’, mathu’, muqām, manzil, ghār, and kahf, each of which reflects different aspects of the dwelling concept. The research findings show that the word "aknān" emphasizes the protective and covering aspect of dwelling and is mainly used in the Qura’n to mean shelter. "bayt", which appears 57 times in the Qur’an, embodies the concept of return and gathering and includes everything from home to the place of worship. "Dār", with 32 uses, emphasizes the concept of enclosure and confinement. "Sakan", with 70 repetitions, focuses on peace and stability. "Ṣarḥ" refers to tall and conspicuous buildings, "ghurfah" to heavenly dwellings, "mathu’" to the aspect of residence, "muqām" to stability and permanence, and "ghār" to natural shelters. The results of the conceptual analysis indicate that the Holy Qur’an uses a wide range of words to express the concept of housing, each of which highlights specific features of this concept. This lexical diversity not only shows the linguistic richness of the Qur’an, but also covers the various physical, mental, social, and spiritual dimensions of housing. The conceptual links of these words form a coherent semantic system that ranges from temporary residence to eternal abode, and from simple shelter to heavenly palaces.
