Divine norms ( sunan ) are God’s unchangeable laws that the knowledge about them can show man the right way of living. One of the ways of finding access to this science is the semantic study of the words in the field of ‚ sunna ‛ in the Holy Qur’an. In this method, the key words of this semantic field are determined and their relations examined from different aspects in order to specify the semantic system of sunna in the Holy Qur’an. The prerequisite of uncovering these complex semantic relations is to have an atomistic look at the semantic bases of the words. In an atomistic perspective, the semantic components of the keywords are extracted, and in a holistic perspective, through outlining the semantic fields and network, the mechanism and relations between the words are processed. Given the extensiveness of the topic, the present research would only take an atomistic glance at a number of the words of the semantic field of ‚ sunan ‛ in the Holy Qur’an.
